i think under his model the business owners are only "hurt" insofar as their property is destroyed. but private ownership of property shouldnt exist, so from that perspective they are not actually hurt because the basis of how you are counting value is flawed.
@Gamut by the way what do you think of the idea that the State should have a monopoly on the legitimate use of violence except in the case of self-defense?
Stop fucking lying, I explicitly never advocated burning down the houses
Now, tell me how that violence is in any way close to the magnitude of the violence against the subaltern which is being completely excluded from political and economic power. How's it proportional to the police being able to murder with impunity? How's it proportional to the horrors of extreme poverty inflicted on them? What about the mass incarceration?
The entire theoretical discussion is pointless and we've been led into the weeds
The original point is that there are violent actions happening right now - burning down courthouses; throwing projectiles/explosives at and advocating for slaying of cops; violent attack, doxxing, threats on dissenters (and applause of their suffering) such as andy ngo, JBP; looting, destruction, extortion of businesses
People (Ewiz, Nyte, LBJ, Gamut, Murs) are supporting these actions in this thread - either explicitly or through some glib irony or through arguing with me when I say this stuff is wrong - and that's what the discussion is about.
Sitting here talking about "did he advocate for burning rich people's houses" is pointless when those things are happening right now and they're being supported by these people.
personally i have similar sentiments to you but i guess they would be saying the magnitude of injustice against black people far dwarfs that so its no big deal in the big picture. may or may not be true. also depends if burning down the marginal house helps black people (no comment)
at least right now i dont believe there is actually enough violence to be scared about it. but i agree with your perspective against the tacit or explicit support of violence at least sentimentally.
Jdance can you go back and find the many posts where he advocated burning down houses. I know you're just sitting there dingling the danglies to this
The discussion of people running through berkeley hills, the anti-semitism discussion where a Jewish paper says it was anti-semitic violence and he says no, it was anti-rich violence and justified
The discussion of which actions to take, which starts with him talking about burning down houses if a person meets a threshold for as rich/landlord
Ah, yeah, saying this completely excluded them from economic and political power and makes them the target of mass incarceration. You're a moron and arguing in bad faith. Trash
