This one was a named event and they rented the rose garden or some shit. The other ones were unnamed randomly picked dates. This one was the day after april fools (we are not joking!!!) And there was considerable chatter of leaks saying the tariffs were going to be higher than even the highest estimates.
People are just unwilling to accept the reality that He is stupid enoughbto set the country on fire for no reason.

Its genuinely hilarious to watch his speech. You can tell He wanted to do this for a long time. (He has been talking tariffs since the 80s) The inflection in his voice is almost kind. I think He genuinely thinks he is doing a good thing. I heard him say the word "sorry" for the first time ever. Instead of berating Biden or Obama specifically he spent a considerable amount of time talking about how all the admins before this had failed us.
