Throw a kick to stop a takedown? No dude he needs to go back in time 10 years and wrestle in high school. Or bare minimum learn how to sprawl this time because he failed to sprawl basically every takedown last fight. It’s the same win condition for o malley as last fight, he just needs to catch merab with a good shot and knock him out before merab can shoot a double and beat the shit out of him for 5 minutes on the ground. To think o malley can stop merab takedowns with kicks after he tossed around umar for 3 rounds is laughable
Also he’s 5’10 fighting at 135 bro there’s not much room to beef anything up there
He has toothpick legs and he can't stop a takedown nor kick well or take a kick because of it.
High level fighters all need to use leg kicks to thwart opponents with better movement. O'malley is certainly quicker and yes some strafe kicks would nullify merab and wear him down.
Also- It's not like you can allocate where your weight goes. He has weak legs because he doesn't work them out.

Yeah I think he’s better off learning to sprawl. He had more success with body kicks in rd 5 of the first fight, trying to leg kick merab who is just going to shoot doubles and go for take downs constantly doesn’t seem like the play to me. Also I don’t really know what you mean by wearing down merab the guy who is nicknamed “the machine” and is known for ragdolling people for 5 rounds to exhaust his opponents and never getting gassed out

Like I said the only chance o malley has is if he has been working hard on his takedown defense and is able to defend takedowns and then either slow merab down with body shots before knocking him out or just catching him and knocking him out. If merab gets his hands on o malley which is infinitely easier to do then it’s over for o malley
