I might be able to respect swindle if he didn't try to steal his teammates earnings in hon lol

  1. In 2012, Toby made a post about Meruna on the JoinDota forums and she reported the post to moderators and described that she and Toby had “private issues.”

Has this been dug up yet?

Dota casters presumably dont make very much because at one point they were all complaining about what they were getting from Valve/other events

joindota is a litetal cesspool

I get that I was pretty easy to make fun of, chubby, I wrote like two paragraphs thanking people, but this was like a pretty big deal to me and the comments speak for themselves lol. It's like every single comment is written by a 13 year old with poor English. Unreal.

I don't think a single one of those people actually read my article/interview what have you

I accurately predicted the rise of nadota and EG won ti5 the next year.

Just sayin.

And I have SHIT circulation and my face looks like a tomato half the time, although not as bad now that I'm at a good weight

sorry for hijacking the thread I just really really really fucking hate joindota. just wanted to say that.

it's a bit like old gosugamers, literal kids, except the gg users were mostly from SEA

also there was the Azarkon guy who worshipped chinese dota and bashed NA all the time (even though he was NA), well i guess it was what it was back in 2011-2013, he was mockingly called A-God in comments

whole update against redeye

I largely agree with this. Not sure how I feel about redeye and the allegations of him being an asshole, but I found his presence in things worthy enough because he wasn’t a previous player and didn’t really work to build a personality around the game so much as around hosting and supporting other figureheads.

I think I just realized day9 is my favorite host...I thought it was pretty amazing how he went from like 0k-4k within like a year or 2?...Not sure why Valve didn't turn all his efforts to learn the game into a decent tutorial thought...(10 years later)

agree, day9 is an amazing person and talent

extremely hard working. kind, courteous, professional, knows what he doesnt know, etc. 10/10 dude. his sc2 content was the best in the industry bar none. by far.

Yeah he’s very outwardly positive I think. But I also think he didn’t represent dota enough hmmm like it was almost bad press to have a non dota exclusive figure?
Idk just a way I read the lack of effort there.

FUCK THESE ME TOO THOTS. CLOUT CHASING BITCHES WHO WANT TO RUIN A ■■■■■.

have you seen his purge teaches dota to day9 content? even if he was profiting off the vids (why shouldnt he?) idk how you could call it lack of effort

Day9 being host definitely brought in views and interest to dota from people who might not have otherwise cared. It was a good strategic move by Valve. He has had plenty of experience hosting events before and is a professional in that regard. He has a unique understanding of games and communities. Other people definitely had more knowledge about the game of dota and the teams/players, etc, but in a way it was beneficial because it made him more relatable to a majority of the audience. He could ask questions much of the audience probably was in a similar boat on and have other people more knowledgeable give good answers. It helped fill time between matches. It wasn't always the smoothest transitions and some of what he said fell flat at times, but he did the job well for the most part.

I dont think someone who knows 0 about dota should be hired to talk about dota because he or she has some "expertise" in talking about other games

true, that’s on valve who probably wanted the highest-profile candidate possible regardless of his competence
