Even with massive dosages of caffeine, it's nowhere near the same level as other drugs. I'd argue the same thing with nicotine too. They are very dependency-inducing, but don't fuck you up much at all

I think there's a good reason to draw a distinction between those drugs. Which is exactly what you're advocating we don't do

For me, it's mostly the habit/ritual. I don't get bad withdrawal when I quit, but I just desire smoking in a lot of specific situations
