Steps to host a game:
remove periods when using examples below
PUT ALL COMMANDS ON A NEW LINE!
step 1:
Create signup thread with @mafiabot host command on its own line.
.@mafiabot host
run @mafiabot slist to check signs and if the intiial host command worked.
From there:
Manually add or remove signups as needed with:
.@mafiabot add @name
.@mafiabot remove @name
step 2:
make your day 1 thread
.@mafiabot startgame YOUR-SIGNUP-THREAD-ID*
- It refers to the number at the end of your host thread in the address bar (Example: 'Host thread''s id is 10458 you can see it there)
step 3:
submit day 1 kills (lynch and night kills)
ie. @mafiabot kill @name
make posts in the day 1 thread with the name of the killed players that happened during n1 as well. like before put all these on a new line
step 4:
making the day 2 thread
.@mafiabot startday YOUR-SIGNUP-THREAD-ID
Repeat until game resolved
Tips:
If the game is fucked and you can tell from the start when kills aren’t being counted or something you can remake your host thread and manually add alive players so they don’t have to resign. This will work better than trying to make a new day thread and using the same host thread for start date.
As host you should be granted the temporary ability to close and open threads in mafia game zone to say, post after eod when Mafiabot locks the thread. Let me know (or others) if you don’t and we’ll promote you (to tl4) (temporarily) for your game to be able to do this
If the bot goes unused for a long period and it stops responding overall, it needs to be reawoken by me or kkat. This will happen after several weeks of the bot being unused. Alert us if this seems to be the case
The bot works without @ tags but I’d recommend always using them
