50,000 Palestinians have died in the decades long conflict against Israel. By comparison 500,000 have died in the last 10 years in the Syrian civil war. Whatever your views people know and care about this because of the ideologies and optics in play, not because of the loss of life or 'genocide'.

Yes the loss of life draws some attention but it sticks around because people are interested in the dialogue. No one talks about sudan or myanmar like that at least in the west, both being active conflicts with high civilian casualties. The numbers could be even worse but we don't know because of the lack of oversight and infrastructure in these countries
People are not appropriately ranking the world's tragedies, so they don't care about any of this because of the loss of life. Pointing out that our conversations and political dialog is directed by national interests and media narratives is already obvious and silly to bring up out of nowhere, but that it means people don't care about the loss of life? Says more about you.

I don't think I'm explaining what I mean very well so I'll just end with this. People do care about loss of life and suffering but their attention spans and interest are a lot higher when it has a discernable 'narrative' with factions they know about.
