The government of israel openly speaks about how it needs to maintain a jewish demographic majority and how it is a jewish state first and foremost, along with being no path for citizenship for non-jews (except possibly through marriage, except for Palestinians, who cannot get citizenship through marriage). The arabs that are there have been there since 1948 and are essentially allowed to live there and are tolerated but there is regular conversation about the potential for a "demographic bomb" as arabs and muslims tend to have more children than jews, they are very much focused on limiting the arab % of the population.
