I live in a corn farming town. But a proper city is like a 20 minute bus/train ride away.

80% of Japan looks like this place. Japanese content and entertainment gives the impression that everything here is either Tokyo level metropolitan city or isolated remote mountain homes.

The reality is most places are the Japanese suburbs. Which are very residential and agricultural. Houses everywhere with no yards in front of them and farm fields.

Not to derail your thread I just think of this when I hear about the abundance of farm fields

What the fuck

Was gonna repost this in a discord chat but if they asked me where it was I’d have no idea

Kumamoto Central eSports High School

It is not an actual school itself. It is a venue for esports events put on by an actual high school nearby.

oh yeah i figured. i think to me it only sounds ludicrous because you wouldn't catch most american high schools putting that much effort or capital towards esports. Only recently that higher education even started doing stuff like that here as far as I knew (but I'm also not from California)

This is one example that came to mind. They built this after my friend graduated

woah

lmao what the fuck

It is unusual here too. When it first opened a couple years ago the staff room was joking a lot about it.

This prefecture and city have unique esports initiatives. It is a way they are trying to stand out. There is a prefecture and city sponsored esports organization that starts gaming ventures for the region.

It is like what Saudi Arabia is doing with quiddiya but without the oil and blood money to make it big.

sounds great, can you get a legit job doin that? i bet they'd hire you as a caster or something
