Confused? Let me explain:
My dad is a 100% disabled veteran. This means that I get $1003 per month for every month I am in school.
I went to school for a semester and completed it normally and received monthly compensation for that semester.
I then enrolled in classes for another semester, set up my monthly compensation, which I received until three months later, when they realized I had not been attending classes. I also did not "drop out" - I simply didn't go to class, which means I still owed tuition that went unpaid for. So for that one semester I retroactively owed the government $3009 for lying to them about going to school, and I owed the school itself ~$6000 for tuition.
The $~450 I donated to the streamer came from that monthly compensation.
