Normal people also don’t burn and loot businesses and destroy entire city blocks, but you don’t care to point that out, or condemn that behavior at all and can’t seem to understand how somebody would feel some type of responsibility to protect the community they had close ties to (which was established in court that he does btw) when the police were largely allowing this behavior to occur. Why don’t you just take the time to watch the trial yourself, listen to all 22 prosecution witnesses like I did, listen to the cross examination from the defense, listen to the defense’s witnesses like I did, listen to the prosecutions cross examination of the defense witnesses, like I did, and make your own determination over his guilt. If you can watch all of that, or even just most of it, (I haven’t watched every minute of the trial as I’m busy sometimes but I’ve watched a majority of it) and still come to the same conclusions that you’re coming to now then I would truly be astonished
My biases going into this case were based off the video I saw where I believed it was self defense but as far as my belief in the character of Kyle I believed he was some type of militiaman LARPer that trained out in the woods doing mock military drills with his buddies and ended up in a real deal life situation where he needed to shoot somebody and was not prepared for it
As it turns out, he’s not some militiaman LARPer at all, and this prosecution literally did everything they could possibly do to paint him as badly as possible to the jury and nearly caused a mistrial because of how hard they pushed and I still ended today changing my opinion on this and my preconceived beliefs over it
But you won’t, you’ll just read the WaPo opinion pieces on the trial and keep saying “well if he was black…” or “well he must be racist to bring a gun to a BLM rally” or “he’s still a murderer” or “he was white and had a rifle so obviously he looked like a school shooter” or whatever other trite useless bs you continue to spew out as your 95iq brain chugs along waiting for the next dopamine hit from NBC to make you feel like you’re doing your civic duty towards fighting the big bad trumpers that are killing black people intentionally and chaining Native American children to Canadian school basements or whatever you believe in
