Here's the second to last Medium, should be pretty easy for us

In the Basque Numbers problem, is there a mistake in two of the lines?

If I move the first word of one line to the end of the previous line, I get a solution.

:emberthinking:

Summary

bost x zazpi = hogeita hama
bost zazpi x bederatzi = hirurogeita hiru

becomes

bost x zazpi = hogeita hamabost
zazpi x bederatzi = hirurogeita hiru

Then I have a solution.

Probably too busy dancing.

We may all know where "nigga" came from - but what is the origin of "Homie"?

I gave ■■■ the answer key, he will check basque numbers

And I will attempt a solve with that modification

Basque Numbers - solve with Krazy's fix

Ref:
(ho = 1)
bi = 2
hiru = 3
lau = 4
bost = 5
zazpi = 7
bederatzi = 9
hamar = 10
hamabost = 10 and 5 (15) --- pref. hama = 10
hogei = 20
hogeita bost = 20 and 5 (25) --- pref. "geita" = base 20
hogeita hamar = 20 and 10 (30)
hogeita hamabost = 20 and 15 (35)
hirurogeita hiro = 3x20 and 3 (63)
hirurogeita hamar = 3x20 and 10 (70)

Ans:
lau x bost = hogei (4 x 5 = 20)
bederatzi x hamar = laurogeita hamar (9 x 10 = 4*20 + 10 (90))

laurogeita hamahiru = 4x20 + 13 = 93
hirurogei = 3x20 = 60

39 = hogeita hamabederatzi
77 = hirurogeita hamazazpi
80 = laurogei

Homie and homeboy mean a friend who grew up near your home.
I still call my best friend homie.

OK ■■■ had the answer key but is moving too slow, I checked and Krazy was right

The funny thing is in the answers key the error remains.

Basque Numbers - Answer Key

I think this is now 2 errors we have found in these problems.

Anyway 2 points to KKat for solving the problem and solving the problem. 1 to me for solving with Kkat's fix.

hogei = 20
hogeieta 20 + the next number

The last problem of the medium problem set is a good one. I will quickly try to solve Kazakh and then post that one.

Got Kazakh. Pretty straightforward

1 minor error - the linguistic challenge is in the word "and" and which version of it to use. Actually I don't know linguistics well enough to understand the rules given for this in the answer sheet

Final Problem of Phase 2 - the last Medium

Problem 8 (Medium)
