Also this goes without saying but we're sorry you had to go through all that and would not have sent you knowing it would have such a severe cost to your mental health but I do have to say you did the best out of all the candidates we've sent in the past so your hard work & sacrifice is appreciated here despite the setbacks with the mafia audience in discord.
Don't fixate too much on the nasty stuff that was sometimes said - I think the general impression overall of the audience was very positive toward your play. Tbh I am surprised you did not get jury voted to the next round - knowing how MU operates it would be worth asking if there was something fishy going on with there

I can see it. Benny played well from our POV but we paid a lot more attention to him than others might have. And I dunno if jurors are held accountable for their picks but they might see Benny as too much of a liability/loose cannon to move forward if they are
so a multi site mafia game happened in which sites selected a champion to represent them like in the triwizard tournament?
Idk what Triwizard is ;but that sounds right. also they call it the championships but I'm pretty sure it's whatever member wants to volunteer than the best 1
Actually, when I went through the spec chat, I saw multiple vouches by jurors saying they would definitely be advancing me. Given that there was 29 people total that went through from jury vote, plus about an additional twenty in the sub list which I didn't get into either, I am quite sure that I was blacklisted. They released the jury chat last year but aren't this year when I requested, it seems to be an intentional slight at our community.

I probably sound psychotic or manic but the first thing I did upon advancing was gauge the jury's reaction to me. Given that the majority of the chat was spent copy and pasting my posts, talking about me, looking into me and the forum's past, I obviously caught the eye of everyone. I definitely would have at least made the sub list, there is no way I was a confirmed advancement from so many jury members only to not see the semi-finals.

I don't want to jump to conclusions but am curious why they selected who they did
Violet in my game spoke with some grace, but Hedin was a complete non factor and borderline afk. From what it seemed, other game players were advanced for this reason as well. I don't think anyone even mentioned Hedin in the entire spec chat.
It was probably turned down by the higher-ups at MU.
It wasn't, if you read my thread though I did offer to donate money to a prizepool for the winning players. The administrator declined of course, as rewarding the players would go against the freak show type setup they have running on mafia universe.

I did not read the thread because I have other novel length reads to get through but I suppose that makes sense. Monetary incentive might cause people to act out of line
I don't want to criticize MU when they do a lot of stuff better than us but it does seem that the championship has more to do with unifying the scene and marketing their forum than a true test of skill
Understandable, they probably didn't want this to sway your submission and would've liked to propose a prize pool ahead of time if anything
Perhaps that's the niche we should follow then. I genuinely think if we foster a community that not only rewards but encourages psychological probing as part of the gameplay (which is what the entire game is based on anyway, no clue why this is against the rules in Mafia Universe), then we would win back the majority of mafia spectators and possibly even get some other attention from e-sports outlets.
