Magic the Gathering thread

That don't even have alt-names to reprint in the future, so even if they do make an in-universe version, you can have two sets of each

i love limited 1 7 win last night 1 this morning. the decks weren't even anything special but 3 geysermages and 3 diviners can get there if you keep your head on straight. this morning i got to enjoy smashing 3 different crab players with an oran rief ooze
:peped:

definitely playing as predominately a pauper over prince set for me as of now

party mechanics are obviously hella important but i think i overreacted early on, finding the open colors is still paramount as you can get solid removal and color pair synergies pretty late in the packs. though come to think of it i have yet to draft a white deck maybe it's more important there

You can also get away with no party UG kickers, landfall WG, and less so BG +1/+1. I think WG does it better with the landfall +1/+1 felidar, the counter or token felidar enchantment, and the +1/+1 flyer

UG kicker has given me all my 7 win drafts. Usually only a tiny splash of blue, and gnarlid colony carrying. 2/4 of those 7 wins though were picking up a jace

yea my one loss last night was to a guy smashing me with murasa rootgrazer and fearless fledgling. didn't have a turn 2 play and just got rekt

BG, RG, and RB all seem pretty lackluster or extremely draft dependent. UG, WG, and WB all seem pretty good. Haven't tried any others

Yeah then territorial scythecats and prowling felidars and if they're lucky, felidar retreat. Green and black are really the only ones that have good answers to flyers imo

I'd say RG is definitely the worst even with a dope draft for it

Is it just me or is 1G way undercoating adventure awaits?

BG either needs a rare payoff or you need to have your early removal or be able to trade creatures. the raise dead with kicker and the murasa kicker buyback guy lets you grind for days and most people i've played aren't packing card draw so they run out of gas if they can't keep pushing through damage

people get trapped into thinking they need to aggressively pursue a +1 counter payoff with BG instead of just drafting good cards and early board presence

undercosted? it's a pretty generic green cantrip with no format synergy. i'm definitely not looking to play it in any deck

Idk why every color has 1{Color} cantrips like nuts

Maybe it's just because I mostly play landfall, but grabbing a good landfall creature early can be crazy

Yeah I feel like the reason for black in amything other than WB clerics should be the removal

That and each color has a landfall creature (green has two) so it can secure a land drop if you drafted into those

How would you say UB is in limited?

idk i've had 2 7 win decks with it with minimal synergy just kinda geysermaged people out of games. roilmage is strong with the black commons but you definitely need to have your vanquish the weaks and subtle strikes early on if they have the landfall dudes
