I have severed my adherence to anti-christian principles. I based my belief system off a philosopher who denigrated morality as a form of population control. The same man had a mental breakdown over a horse. This is due to him repressing his humanity for so long that it all came flooding out in his later years.

I am a proud advocate of optimism but the annals of both history and the natural world are full of cases that are completely hopeless. Lambs being devoured by wolves. Flies caught in the web. There is no virtue in maintaining optimism in these situations. At the same time there is no judgement in ending things early.

We have to treat ourselves the way we treat others. I'd put myself out of its misery if I saw myself from a third person perspective
A year back I stopped believing in any form of consciousness after death.
At the time this was, obviously, devastating, but now I am glad.
The only memories I look fondly on are those which are drenched in nostalgia

consciousness does exist beyond death, but, your choices are your own, of a sense. as much sense as any of this experience of existence can make.
