Looks easy.

The answer is 4. 32,35,36.

Google?

Calculator.
8!
Take the cube root. Its about 34.
So find 3 numbers close to 34 that equal 8!

8! = 1x2x3x4x5x6x7x8
8x4=32
7x5=35
1x2x3x6=36

So you used caluclator to find 8!, Took the rough cube root of 8!, Then what the fuck did you do you crazy old man

The book didn't teach me this crap

Trial and error.

8x3=24 too low
8x4=32 close
8x5=40 too high

7x4=28 too low
7x5=35 nice
7x6=42 too high

Then multiply the rest together to get 36.

Took me 8 minutes.

So 8*4 = 32 which means that 32 must be a factor of 8! ?

I haven't done factors or multiples in like 10 years

The factors of 8! are 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8.

Oh that means there might even be a better answer. Hmm.

Damn I was right after all.

need more help

im pretty sure this ones easy

i refuse to press the give up button

@KrazyKat

Try something like this: 3(n+1)! - 2(n+1)! = 6(n)!

You just factor out (n + 1) right

i just felt the urge to google what IS the universe

Fuck this crap Khan academy didn't prepare me for aops, I'm buying the algebra book and doing those problems

N=5

Yup.

Here's how I did it.

3(n+1)! - 2(n+1)! = 6(n)!

(n+1)! = 6(n)!

(n+1)! = (n+1)(n)!

(n+1)(n)! = 6(n)!

(n+1) = 6

n = 5

I'll show you the book solution when I get home
