did ok at my first tourney back
got 7th losing to this guy named tuxedo mask (for the first time QQ but hes p good so im not too upset) in a really close 2-1 set and then also losing to bluebuddy (best puff in socal? there are like 2-3 at more or less the same level) in a less close 2-1 set.
Gonna be fucking both of them up within a month or so i can feel it.

day 3 of practicing every day before work
im getting pretty decent at empty pivots in the left direction (dash right, pivot left). Cant do them at all in the other direction. They’re the future of ice climbers
I think i need to work at intentional wavedash lenghts. Right now i more or less just use ‘long wd’ = max length ‘short wd’ = really short, but i think that if i can like do something wehre i wd at them knowing they expect a max length wd and do one just a bit shorter so they whiff when trying to punish me for that i could really fuck up a lot of people.
Like i think it’d be super good vs falcos who like throw out bairs/dairs to stuff my wd or marths who dtilt or peaches who dsmash. like a lot of things. maybe not peach dsmash cuz that hitbox is actually stupid.
gonna go FNT this friday would be really cool to get top 8

ultimate seems like a game I would really enjoy I might have to pick it up here in japan. I keep seeing people play on the train and I get jealous

i think its really good if u want like a medium core game
ive been playing more guilty gear i think its actually helped me with melee in that i kinda look for which moves ‘beat’ other moves more now

not so hard that you need to like dedicate a lot of your time to it to be good
