It literally assumes you're an idiot and really want something less fucked up and stupid than what you explicitly asked for. It can do this either a little bit or with whole messages, it's a random process. This isn't a woke DEI choice, it's a natural consequence of stochastic methods and how a GPT is created and developed.
You will never see a commercial product using a GPT that doesn't follow this pattern.
