I have a sneaking suspicion that BlackRock et al are specifically buying up housing to turn people into rent slaves because this is what the government wants. The government provides food, water, and to some extent shelter via the ghetto projects, The BlackRock homes will eventually be turned into some form of nationalized housing.

Aren't you oversimplifying the manifold hypothesis by not acknowledging that some of these final values are simply some function of other values in the data set? So there'd be many useless variables but probably more useful ones than we as monkeys with the predisposition to simplify situations can easily see then
