really its because most people arent aware of the depth of information about them that companies already have. For example theres a single company in the US that has a profile on the information and spending habits of 70+% of americans (you included if you shopped at a dept store or partner before) that most people dont even know exists. people should be aware of that stuff
yeah that doesnt matter to me imo
nmaGane has every conversation I ever had with nyte somewhere on his computer: it's sort of like the same situation.
this battle was fought in the early 2000's and it turns out most people didn't care enough to do anything actionable. we were just born into it not much to do about it unless you just pay for everything with cash your entire life
my aunt thought it was unethical capitalism for social media companies to sell your information as if that wasn't the huge paycheck for them to begin with
zero brain you have no idea what you're talking about
you have no idea what you're talking about
you know it's been a good day when he's insta replying
the entire internet went https:// post snowden-links, GDPR is a thing, and homomorphic encryption is one of the biggest research areas in all of "data privacy".
Isn't this really against your point?
"Early 2000s" might as well be the 80's at this point.
where does it start then? social security numbers? census data collection? levying taxes?
it's mindblowing -- "bitcoin" became the most hyped "investment", the largest bubble in multiple decades and the entire point of bitcoin is distributed transactions with no authority and I have to read shit like "this was lost in the 2000s".
youre a dumb redditor dude and you're talking about a field you have no clue about
what are you on about
What I tried to say is that in the "early 2000's" the "people" you're talking about are now dead and the internet is unimaginably different.
the "people" who didn't do anything actionable are people like him -- people who aren't in the field.
"we didnt vote" -- the battle was lost -- "we can only accomplish this through democracy"
just brain dead idiocy.
i was responding to
which obviously existed prior to the internet but the data was harder to collect and share. those people aren't dead yet at least as a blanket statement
jones really fiending today
