i dont watch those videos i already know those movies are shit at least to me. i like his long-form analysis of writing and direction in big movies. again he doesn't do indie or small films because fewer clicks

i used to like his videos actually and just got slowly turned off over time so it's a bitter, personal thing for me

it's so repetitive and unejoyable and uninsipired to listen to, it doesn't spark thought, it doesn't do anything, it's just noise
he does overdo it on the destruction traditional gender roles and strawmans progressive points a little bit at points. but the videos ive watched really only use that as a meme or point to attack modern writer's need to completely deconstruct characters
and as someone who fancies himself at least partially an artist i kinda have a grudge against people who make a full time living basically just doing easy slam dunk takedowns of unpopular movies
it's 1000x harder to create something than it is to critique it, and i'd just like to hear that acknowledged at some point during his roasting, hey these people tried something and it didn't work, instead he talks about them like works
like youtube video essay movie takedowns (an entire sub genre that "The Last Jedi" created) are just kinda soulless in some way
