Lmao at not eating insects

what say you over women who go public with rape and get laughed at?

How many times does that have to NOT happen because your life is “ruined” by it and in all likelihood not getting “justice”, before it’s enough to be more “socially acceptable” so that you(asoul) don’t worry about the exceptions?

Do I need to bring up that worthless swimmer that they refused to take seriously?

Honestly, I think shit happens and most people have probably done a lot of shit that they regret or have come to decide wasn’t particularly swell of them in retrospect. I’m not excusing rape, and I’m not saying everyone self reflects and tries to improve, but I do think people can change over time.

I don’t think this guy should be on the Supreme Court given his high-school social circle. While it might be “typical” of certain social circles, those circles are not the ones I’d pull Supreme Court judges from. And for someone who would be holding such a high position, he reacted VERY poorly, I think. That life should be more demanding of patience and temperance than the presidency.

But what do I know.

Oh no I responded to something and there’s like 200 posts since

Just fucking cruise by

Im voting to end it all does that count?

Do you own a gun

Nice high-effort post. I will respond to it piece-by-piece since it seems like you want to talk.

Bad. Obviously. I've never seen this happen personally but I've said that before about some SJW topics and been wrong so who knows.

Hard to understand exactly what you're saying here but it sounds like you're saying at some point we should be convicting people in the court of public opinion without giving them a fair trial and that we shouldn't worry about the fact that there will be some false positives. This seems altogether ■■■■■■■■■

I'll remind you we have a justice system in this country and it works on some very fundamental principles like presumption of innocence and tons of guidelines which are supposedly there to make sure the system remains fair. Now if you think the justice system is not fair (or not effective), we should change it. I don't think that's particularly radical I think it's common sense.

To some extent we've already begun this. The statute of limitations on rape has been extended in many states, some establishing no limit. Unfortunately it's a hard crime to prove 30 years after the fact but I have faith we'll continue to improve our legal system in this area, especially with all this stuff in the news recently.

never been proven

Another confusing paragraph. I don't see how rape can be in a category of "most people have probably done a lot of shit that they regret or have come to decide wasn't particularly swell of them in retrospect." Like - OOps. I raped again - that was a mistake. I feel kinda bad about that.

I just don't understand how people can violate someone else like that and I don't see it as "a little mistake" or something to regret later. It's a serious crime that effects people mentally and physically for years and sometimes decades (as demonstrated by Dr. Ford's testimony). I wonder if better education about rape and its consequences could help resolve this. Like in everybody's sex-ed class have a section about how women (and men!) who are sexually assaulted experience trauma years later and it causes them serious malfunction in their everyday lives.

I dont know. I feel like part of the issue is some guys aren't confronted with the fact they raped when it's clear to the victim that it was rape. I read some thing on reddit about a girl suffering PTSD from a 10y relationship where the boyfriend just wouldn't take no for an answer and that was just their version of normal. And I really got the feeling that she had slowly come to the conclusion that she was raped (mostly because she suffered some ptsd after and talked to people about it) but that nobody ever thought "dude - this guy is raping people. He needs to be confronted and stopped."

As much as people want to talk about "rape culture" I feel the evangelists often don't address the root of the problem, rapists, and instead spend their time taking out their frustrations on the people that are already (or were once) their allies. This is why the left is constantly losing these days - because they'd rather shout at school administrators about halloween costumes than knock their noggins together and find ways to actually address rape.

There are also a lot of people that are really intolerant of free thought and unable to consider differing perspectives which effectively makes them unable to empathize and temper their message to market it to moderates and unable to fully comprehend why differing viewpoints exist, meaning they cannot find solutions (because they cannot understand the problem).

Example:

I say: Rape is bad. I want to understand rapists so I can learn to prevent it.
SJWcucks say: Wow. You are #notWithUs. Is this #RapeApologia?? Mom - bring the #SoyMilk I've got a long night of quippy Twittering to do.

Read this sentence again and realize it's one of your worst.

Ultimately I feel he should have been assessed and probably disqualified based on his judicial history and some of his opinions about the legal system in the US. Dragging up this assault allegation was probably morally necessary, but ultimately became a political circus, accomplished nothing, and distracted from the real issues (the judicial record of a person being appointed to the highest court in the country). The democratic senators clearly miscalculated.

And I say miscalculated because this wasn't a moral issue for them, as much as they'd like to present it as one. This was political calculation and it failed. They weren't particularly respectful of the victim (Feinstein's office leaked her name to the press in response to her request to remain anonymous and not testify when they realized they needed her to testify. The supposedly liberal press then went and harassed the victim, forcing her to come forward. Does this sound like morally correct behavior? Is it sensitive to the victim? Or is this political nonsense and mania to malign this guy in his senate hearing, no matter the cost?) and they didn't particularly advise her well on getting justice for the crime. They used Ford as a political battering ram and she will (and does already) suffer for it.

Altogether abhorrent behavior from all involved, stupidity from both sides, and the steadfast calls for reason are growing fewer and meeker while the world capitulates to political mania. And so it goes.
