If you guys have heard of Somerville, MA (known for being the first city in the US to formally legalize polyamory - in 2020) they do this regularly
There is an event called Honkfest where people walk around on the streets with tubas doing this
it is actually worse than what you see here because here at least the people can play their instruments. But at Honkfest it feels like a lot of people just picked up an instrument to be part of the culture, so you get some guy on the french horn who started 2 months ago and is just there making noises
The funny thing is they actually do this multiple times a year, you don't have to fly in at a specific time
Every time there is a holiday or cultural event, an open call goes out to all the same street vendors and parade participants and everybody who likes to join these things
So it's attended by basically the same group of people every time and they do the same things
You can come for halloween, they will have a parade and have people honking on horns. You can come for like Chinese New Year and there will be people in the street playing french horns. It truly is an insane corner of the world
I think it's only been a month or 2 since I was in somerville for about 2 seconds. There was a last second change of plans and met with friends in cambridge instead.
To be honest you seem like more of a Somerville person. Next time bring your french horn
Don't think I can afford to live there, I was living in roxbury for a bit.
Though I haven't played trumpet since the fifth grade so it does sound like i'd match the vibe.
