Lowkey biggest connection I personally have to horses is my little pony
The suburb I grew up in had horse tracks in the residential areas. I rode some neighbors' horses when I was a kid.
Now you can Umamusume: Pretty Derby, some of my relatives had horses/ponies so i believe i was thrown on a pony a couple times as a little guy.
My parents had a 1/6 ownership of a race horse.
Used to go to the track and win on that stallion.
Fun times.
He eventually started bleeding blood from his lungs after hard races.
The primary owner was willing to sell him for 300 bucks by Purina.
My mom refused.
He ended up getting sold to an Amish family to pull their cart.
I respect her for that a lot.
well the amish have a tendency of working the piss out of their horses and selling them at auction when they are broken or old and not caring for them to end of life, so i wouldn’t consider it too kindly on average.
