That's why I said whether to come to Ukraines defense is still a legitimate question despite that. Read just a few more lines.
Nothing's gon a happen stop being sissies
Lol
Take no current events seriously - everything will be jolly and roses because it has been in recent history
Great take
I read everything you said
you really think Iâm not reading all 4 of your sentences? Iâm just adding my opinion into my response
UA is not part of NATO or the EU so theyâre not an ally bound by any treaty or anything of the sort when it comes to defending their country from a Russian invasion. I do not believe a full on war between Russia and the US will occur in the UA but a higher intensity proxy war (already been occurring in donbass/Donetsk) is definitely possible along with an attempt for the US to expand their military presence into full on bases and other shit like they have all over the world already.
I donât think Russia would allow the US to just start stationing troops in the UA like that however as it would be supremely â â â â â â â â to allow geopolitical enemies to have a military base next door to you.
I donât like to think of geopolitics as some game of right or wrong or who has the better moral justification instead I believe all countries act in their own interest regardless of morals or virtues or âfighting for democracyâ or any of that nonsense. Any attempt to justify it past the strategic benefits to me is essentially just state propaganda meant to keep the population in support of otherwise aggressive military action in other parts of the world.
I thought this was with Russia to return the nukes after the breakup of the Soviet Union in return Russia would respect the sovereignty of the UA
it sets a pretty terrible precedent if Russia is allowed to invade Ukraine and nobody helps them.
most likely the US will send money and supplies, if any countries send troops it will be European ones
the US and Britain were involved as well
I think itâs pretty unlikely Russia invades UA like a full on 1939 style thing not saying itâs impossible but they are in my opinion just expanding military presence in a region that the US/Western Europe has been trying to expand their influence in for the past 30 years. Not to mention US SF have been operating in the region for god knows how long doing god knows what. Maybe itâs just both sides gearing up for a larger scale proxy war at this point
Russia is just not going to allow US forces or Western European forces build up a military presence on their border itâs just not an option for them
We also never get the full picture as civilians it could literally be any number of things at this point, US could be planning to build military bases in the UA and Russia is building up a military presence as a response to it. Iâm not sure, but I know itâs not as simple as âRussia is evil and wants to invade all its neighbors to be powerfulâ
Theyâve been a regional power in Eastern Europe for 500 years or some shit theyâre not just going to let the west come in and influence probably the second largest Slavic country in the region
Then they shouldnât invade Ukraine. Currently there is no military buildup on their border, all they have to do is maintain that is not be warmongers
lol no
If I was King, no one would be allowed to read foreign policy news without demonstrating they know what the security dilemma means.
That isn't directed at anyone. Just a passing thought
Then why did I take offense to it
