My periods way shorter
I don't get sick just adhd to something else
had my own alzheimers moment on tuesday. karma.
- d4 Nf6 2. c4 g6 3. Nc3 Bg7 4. e4 d6 5. Nf3 O-O 6. Be2 c5 {wasn't sure about
this move, but it felt logical. i was trying to get into a benoni-type setup
with the fianchetto. not sure if that's a bad thing. didn't go that way anyway;
i should look into the opening, this position tends to come up} 7. h3 {felt
this was wrong, although maybe capturing on d4 wasn't great} cxd4 8. Nxd4 Nc6 - Be3 a6 {trying to control b5. the lack of control over b6 came back to bite
me. maybe b5 was something i needed to give up--is it really a vital square?} - O-O e5 {looking through with the engine, it says that this was the mistake.
i wasn't sure how else to fight for the center, and thought this was as good a
time as any for d5. maybe fighting for the center wasn't the key. playing a
solid defensive position with Bd7 would have been more sound; this is the most
common move in practice} (10... Bd7 11. Qd2 Rc8 12. Rac1 Nxd4 13. Bxd4) 11. Nc2 Be6 12. Qd2
Qc7 {the point of controlling b5; and the point against giving up b6. Qc7
seems certainly a bad move in retrospect} 13. Rac1 Rfd8 {not sure about this
move either. i'm giving up attempts to push the kingside with Nd7-f5, and his
queenside is fairly well defended} 14. f3 Nd7 {i got worried around this time
about Na4-Bb6, and felt that I was in a worse position because of it. Moving
my f6 knight to the queenside was an attempt at defense} 15. b4 {didn't expect
b4. i thought that it would weaken c4, but taking advantage of that proved
difficult} Nb6 {Ne7 would have likely been better, due to what followed -- the
engine says that this was the key blunder. it suggests a rook move, which i
hadn't even considered. maybe patience was key here.} (15... Ne7 16. Nd5 Bxd5 - cxd5 Qb8 {not ideal, but salvageable. when i feel strategically outplayed
my head starts going numb, like i have no idea what i'm doing anymore. i felt
outplayed after perceived trouble on b6; i hope that i would have found this
if my mindset was 100%. i'd considered Nd5, but didn't put the thought into
calculating it. i played Nb6 in an 'even if i calculate it, what can i do'
sort of idea. looking at the engine analysis, there was plenty i could have
done.}) (15... Rdc8 16. Rfd1 Qd8 17. Rb1 Nb6 {the engine line, ending in the
move i played prematurely. it looks like the blunder was purely tactical. Rdc8
may have been difficult to see since it admits the mistake of playing Rd8 in
the first place.}) 16. Nd5 Bxd5 17. cxd5 Nd7 (17... Ne7 18. Na3 Qd7 19. Bxb6) - dxc6 bxc6 19. Na3 Nf6 20. Nc4 d5 {trying to make the position tricky,
hoping to salvage the game} 21. Bb6 dxc4 22. Qe3 {expected Qxd8+ here. this
move feels like a mistake, and i don't think he considered what followed} Bh6 - Qc5 Qd6 {i thought for a long time before playing Qd6, and ended up
feeling it was my best bad move} 24. Bxd8 Qxc5+ 25. bxc5 Be3+ 26. Kh1 Rxd8 27.
Bxc4 {not sure this was correct, although that pawn would have been a nuisance.
instead of accepting the nuisance, he opted for an approximately equal
position. maybe he was afraid of ghosts, or maybe he saw something that i
didn't. either way, shaking things up with d5 seemed to have paid off.} (27.
Rcd1 Rxd1 28. Rxd1 c3 29. Bd3 Bxc5 30. Rb1 a5 {for example}) 27... Bxc1 28.
Rxc1 a5 29. Rc2 Ne8 {didn't see an avenue to activate my knight through the
kingside. the queenside seemed difficult too, but something like Ne8-c7-b5 was
hopeful.} 30. Rb2 Rd4 (30... Rd1+ 31. Kh2 Rc1 {regretted not playing this
instead of Rd4 before the check}) 31. Ba6 Rd1+ 32. Kh2 Rc1 33. Kg3 Rxc5 34. f4
Rc3+ 35. Kh4 exf4 36. Kg5 f3 37. g4 Kg7 38. Kf4 f2 39. Bf1 Nc7 40. g5 Ne6+ 41.
Kg4 Re3 {felt he was blundering the endgame horribly, although i was running
out of time. he had ~20 minutes left around this point, and i was down to 4} - Rxf2 Rxe4+ 43. Kg3 Nxg5 44. h4 Ne6 45. h5 g5 46. h6+ Kg6 {obvious blunder.
my time management is catching up with me} 47. Bd3 Nc5 48. Re2 f5 49. Bxe4
Nxe4+ {felt that this was a good recovery} 50. Kf3 Kxh6 51. Rc2 c5 52. Rb2 Kg6
{Stopped recording here but the game ended in a draw. Definitely should have
won even after the rook blunder. i was playing on 5 second increment which
might be a poor excuse} *
Not funny.

Are you trying to call me ■■■■■■■■ ? I recommend you learn better creative writing, it's not engaging to read your stuff at this level.
Last night's game:
- d4 e6 2. c4 d5 3. Nf3 Nf6 4. Nc3 c5 {wasn't sure on this move. i've played
against it in online blitz but i don't know the proper response. i decided
allowing cxd4 would be good for him no matter how i recaptured, so I took on
c5. taking on d5 is the most common move here, which makes sense, but i think
it would give a more boring position} 5. dxc5 Bxc5 {he said after the game
that he should have played something other than Bxc5, and was adamant that he
messed the opening up horribly. i guess i'm not convinced... he suggested dxc4
instead, but he seems fine here} 6. Bg5 Be7 (6... Qb6 7. e3 Qxb2 8. Rc1 Bb4 {
the engine says Bg5 is a blunder due to this line. obviously i didn't consider
it}) 7. e3 O-O 8. cxd5 exd5 {his d-pawn is very difficult to defend. i felt
comforatble playing aggressively since he's a couple hundred points lower rated
} (8... Nxd5 9. Bxe7 Nxe7 {i would imagine he's fine here}) 9. Qb3 Nc6 10.
O-O-O a6 {this move seemed like a mistake, unless he plans to evacuate his
queen to e8. still, accepting that the d5 pawn is lost, there are more active
plays:} (10... Bf5) (10... a5) (10... Be6) 11. Nxd5 Nxd5 {starting to get
tricky, and i was worried that i miscalculated. i don't think i did} 12. Rxd5
Be6 {unfortunate game-losing blunder. i was hoping to get a stranglehold on
him.} 13. Rxd8 Bxb3 14. Rxa8 Rxa8 15. axb3 Bxg5 16. Nxg5 Nb4 17. Bc4 Rc8 18.
Nxf7 Rxc4+ 19. bxc4 Kxf7 20. Rd1 Ke7 21. Kd2 Nc6 22. Kc3 g6 23. b4 Ke6 24. f4
Ke7 25. b5 Nd8 26. bxa6 bxa6 27. Ra1 Ne6 28. Rxa6 Kf7 29. Rxe6 Kxe6 30. g4 Kd6 - Kd4 Kc6 32. Ke5 Kc5 33. Kf6 Kxc4 34. e4 Kd4 35. e5 Ke3 36. Kg5 Kf3 37. e6
h5 38. gxh5 gxh5 39. Kxh5 Kxf4 40. e7 Kf3 41. e8=Q Kg2 42. Kg4 Kh1 43. Qe4+ Kg1 - Qe2 Kh1 45. Kg3 Kg1 46. Qg2# *

Good work.
the other game was more interesting
another rough tuesday draw
- d4 d5 2. c4 c6 3. Nf3 Nf6 4. Nc3 dxc4 5. e4 {haven't played
against queen's gambit accepted in a while. i don't know what the lines are. i
thought e4 could be difficult to defend in certain lines but i wanted to play
aggressively} b5 {thought this was bad since i only ever play against it in
online blitz. maybe it's not, who knows} 6. Bg5 {i'm sure this isn't the book
move but i liked it. his knight on b8 is sad, and e6 or e5 will be a difficult
move to play. g6-Bg7 would be forced, which makes h6 a questionable move. that
keeps my bishop pretty safe while pressure is exerted. looking at existing
games, this is the first bad move.} Bg4 7. Be2 g6 {thought for a while about
taking his knight here. decided trading pieces & giving up the bishop pair
would do too much to the initiative i had for what would probably end up being
a minor inconvenience for black, but it was hard to say. (looking at reference
games, g6 wasn't forced at all, like both of us apparently thought. h6, b4,
Nbd7 were played)} 8. O-O Bg7 9. h3 {wanted my bishop on the long diagonal and
didn't think he had a good option to retreat} Bxf3 10. Bxf3 Nbd7 $2 {castling
was better. this allowed attacking chances. it's not immediately obvious so i
understand wanting to activate his pieces, but my bishop lining up with his
rook and my center control felt like they offered something} 11. e5 Nd5 12.
Bxd5 {i thought for a long time before taking with the bishop. i thought that
my knight on the fifth rank could do serious damage. hard to say whether it
was a mistake; i never finalized anything with the knight, but it ended up
seeming very annoying for him to deal with} cxd5 13. Nxd5 f6 14. exf6 Nxf6 {
i calculated to here when i took the d-pawn, thought that the forcing lines
(Nxf6, Bxf6) would be bad for me, but that my pieces would find opportunities
to be active. thought for a while about how to do that and was pretty happy
with Nf4} 15. Nf4 {with the point of Ne6, preventing any move other than Kf7
or Qd7. he said after the game that he considered Qb6, but I don't think that
leads to anything. my rook is still coming to e1, and I'll start lining pieces
up along the file.} Qd7 16. Re1 O-O 17. Ne6 Rf7 {wasn't really considering
this move. i thought he'd stay on the back rank. it was probably a good
defensive move} 18. Qf3 {in retrospect i should have played a different move.
letting him get a tempo with Nd5 was bad play, and he would still be fairly
locked down} Nd5 19. Qe4 Bf6 {taking would be bad, so Bh6, taking more squares
around his king. i should have seen from here that there would be issues
capitalizing on those squares} 20. Bh6 Rc8 21. f4 Bh8 22. g4 Qd6 {wasn't
thinking about Qd6. good move. i probably should have played Kg2 here, and
then I'm not sure what he does} 23. Rf1 Nc7 24. Ng5 {starting to run low on
time around here. in retrospect, obviously Qd4+ gets him out of trouble. i saw
it, but wanted to do my best to remain active, and thought that i would come
out up an exchange.} Qxd4+ 25. Qxd4 Bxd4+ 26. Kg2 {bad move. didn't consider
Nd5, and he's getting initiative.} Nd5 27. Rae1 Ne3+ 28. Rxe3 Bxe3 29. Nxf7
Kxf7 30. Re1 Bd4 31. Bg5 Rc7 32. Re2 b4 33. Kf3 c3 34. bxc3 bxc3 35. Rc2 Bg7 - f5 {trying to block his king in} gxf5 37. gxf5 Rc5 38. Ke4 {stopped
recording here because i had a minute left but it ended in a draw. maybe he
could have found a win if we had more time} 1/2-1/2
