I feel like this sentiment is a great case-study as to why propaganda is so effective. The moment you are able to cognitively block out any opposing viewpoints as being in 'bad-faith', you effectively stifle any chance of civil discourse, thus ensuring that the form stays in a perpetual state of hell forever and ever.
