Creation of new threads should always be centered around the new tenets in that new members of the forum will not understand the canon and psychological profile of existing users, therefore try to refrain from using stereotypes or 'inside-jokers' that will do nothing but deter these people.
I'm not saying tone down the rhetoric; part of the charm of the forum comes from the unique and liberal style of administration, but try to write every post with the assumption that people won't have the almost decade long knowledge of users as you do.
