The whole point of reading the translation is you can't read the text as it is presented. That's the whole point.

There is ZERO way for me as the layman to identify as to whether it's accurate to the text or not.
Who cares if it's sold as "The Odyssey for Women?" Is the translation good or not?

It's a good general rule of thumb that pretty much no translation is accurate to the text's tone/style.
I say this as someone who speaks more than 1 language.
I can't evaluate the competency of the translation so I have to look at the scholarly response and the scholarly response is "the odyssey for women".
I'm not making this about "the heroic poetics reinforce the male hierarchical privilege in Greek society": the author did. That's the entire premise for the author selling the book.

It comes off very forced and sticks out in comparison to your other posts and general ramblings. It's one thing to insult others with measurable statistical means like IQ, and another to call people "gay" because you feel like it.
