If you feel no "inward dejection" after spending 20% of this month playing DoTA in duo queues with Chris then it's obvious that your personal development has regressed past the level you were at a measly 1-2 years ago.

Or maybe my personal development progressed past the point where I concern myself with how I spend my time with my friends, and realize that if he wants to play Dota I'll play dota with him.
This doesn't mean that I don't "feel awful and unsatisfied" about it - I obviously see the lacking performance and negative psychological damage it has done.
