@Gamut was thinking about jumping into rocksmith and saw this new rocksmith+ coming out. watched the trailer and it was useless. does it replace the current rocksmith? should I just wait for it to come out?
Don't bother with Rocksmith+, get Rocksmith 2014 Remastered.
So basically what happened with Rocksmith 2014 is the community cracked it, and now create their own content. If you get Rocksmith 2014 for PC, you can freely download any of the content from customsforge.com, where over 40 000 songs have been charted by the community, including black metal and anime theme songs and VGM and all sorts of things Ubisoft would never bother releasing DLC for. Not all of it is well-done, but some charters do a better job than Ubisoft!
Rocksmith+ is the new title coming. It has an engine update, so it sounds a little better. But it's also switched to a subscription-based model ($15/month). The music selection in the beta was extremely weak, and there's virtually no upgrades outside of the engine yet.
