A 7-player Mafia game with a cult setup typically involves one Cult Leader and a mafia team (usually two mafia players). The Cult Leader can recruit members each night, who then become cultists and lose their original roles. The entire cult dies if the Cult Leader is eliminated. Additional town roles, such as a Samurai (who can kill the Cult Leader), can be added to balance the game.
Here's a more detailed breakdown of a typical 7-player cult setup:
Mafia: 2 Mafia players.
Cult: 1 Cult Leader.
Town: 4 Town players.
Additional Roles: These can include a Samurai, a Deprogrammer, or other roles that interact with the cult or mafia.
How it works:
Night:
The Cult Leader can recruit one player each night, who becomes a cultist and loses his or her original role.
Day:
The players discuss and vote to eliminate players they suspect of being Mafia or cultists.
Objective:
Each faction wins by eliminating the other two factions.
Cult's Power:
The cult leader's ability to recruit cultists can significantly shift the balance of the game, making it a challenging setup for both town and mafia.
Tips for Playing:
Town:
Focus on identifying the Cult Leader early and working together to eliminate them, as their death eliminates the entire cult.
Mafia:
Coordinate with the Cult Leader to recruit cultists and leverage their abilities to take down the town.
Cult Leader:
Use your ability to recruit wisely, choosing players who can best support the cult's goals and avoid being discovered.
Additional Roles:
Understand the mechanics of any additional roles (like Samurai or Deprogrammer) and how they can impact the game.
This setup can be a lot of fun, but it's important to remember that it can be a challenging setup for the town to win, so be prepared for a good challenge!
Mafia has nightkill and day/night chat. Cult has night conversion and day/night chat. Samurai kills cult.
Cult converts all roles except Samurai. Converted mafia will remain in their chat. Cult all die when the leader dies.

All role PMs are out. Day begins and will end when the thread locks.
Heads-up: I will add one rule. Players who are blatantly AFK will be subbed at EOD1 in order to not ruin the game. AFK will be up to my discretion and will not be up for discussion in the thread (to avoid angleshooting) - if you are around and reading the thread, don't worry, you won't be subbed. This is for the people who don't show up to the forum at all. If you want to play low-activity and are worried I would sub you, you can send me a PM saying you are engaged but intentionally low-posting.
The year is 1551. The land of the rising sun groans under the weight of fractured rule.
The Ashikaga shogunate still clings to authority, but its grip weakens with each passing season. The shogun’s banners hang faded over a war-torn landscape, and whispers of rebellion ride the wind like ash before a fire.
Across the provinces, daimyo clash for territory and survival — some out of ambition, others merely to protect their lands. In this fragile balance, eight figures gather, bound by politics, grudges, and uneasy alliances. On the surface, they are neighbors. Some are rivals. Some are friends. But all carry blades.
Yet amid the chaos, something stirs — not a battle yet, but a presence. A figure waits in shadow, quiet as smoke, destined to redraw the map with fire. Oda Nobunaga, a minor lord, little known beyond his province, is watching. And soon, he will begin to act.
But no one knows that yet.
Today, the lords meet. Their words are civil. Their smiles are forced.
Only one thing is certain: not all will survive what’s to come.
