Are you making any modifications to the setup? As a game designer, I'm sure you are aware you can't just run the same thing a third time - that would be derivative and uncreative.

I've done very little design, mostly programming. If the resident designer (NMA) is okay with changes I'd consider it.
Go ahead as long as it's not just adding a role from the mafia wiki. Feel free to add new original rules and mechanics.
The problem statement that could be solved with a minor modification is there should be a minor disincentive for town to just start shooting.
If you have a PR, you're a little bit worried you're going to shoot the PR. But just a little bit
As-is, I think the setup could devolve into people just shooting whomever they don't like. There's should be minor cost/risk involved in just randomly shooting in VTs - otherwise, the players on this site will eventually figure out the optimal strategy is to just start shooting.
