Just a little tidbit cuz someone pmed me asking how edits work and i made a decent post on it to him
"so the way edits work here is theres a little time period where you can re-edit the post after submitting so if you catch something immediately you can hide it away, we ask that you dont do this for mafia but theres not much you can do to salvage a bad post if u got 90 seconds so i just use it to fix grammar errors
anyways after like 90 seconds, any edits you make will add an edit revision. you know when somethings been revised cuz it has the little pencil icon on it. if you click on it youll see the menu that shows what changes have been made to the post, from there i think u have full control to revert to an older edit if you wanted. if you submit an edit you can edit it in the same little time window and itll be a part of the same edit in the version history.
we got rid of the ability to easily delete your own posts cuz we have to figure out some way to make that not apply when it comes to mafia so they dont just disappear (otherwise they would but after a few weeks). From what ive seen other discourse mafia communities have just done what we did, and make it so it takes like a year to actually have a post be deleted by yourself. if you make a post and it seems like you cant do anything about it either i’d
a) contact me or ersu the guys who do moderation shit i guess or b) you can flag it yourself to ask for us to delete it (preferrable)"
obviously if its time sensitive just message whos on. staff does have the ability to hide a revision so we can actually do that for you as well if you need it somewhere.
I would recommend against flagging yourself. The system keeps tracks of your flags.
Yeah haha you’d he relying on us to not accept the flag. I brought it up cuz I’m pretty sure you can specify a reason why it’s flagged, and now that ersu is handling more flags it’ll be easier for him to spot post’s that need help this way.

I don’t know the number of characters to make it fit I just want it not to wrap to a second line on the front page as it pushes all the other sections down. Give it a litte … ya know

If you’re suggesting shortening title restrictions altogether in response to my suggestion about styling on the front page I think that’s dumb. People should be free to do what they want with long titles. But the site should be set up in a way that their choices are minimally disruptive to others if they’re doing something stupid.
