was pretty surprised to see that valve themselves put out notice that there were actually still tickets available to purchase for the arena. was it like that last year? i was under the impression general tickets sold out every year, ahead of time.
No Arteezy, Sumail, Ceb, Notail, Kuro, Abed, etc.
At least Quinn and Fly and Crit and Gunnar are playing.
Other than that, I have no reason to root for any team.

The tickets are very expensive. and they are only for the last three days.
Imagine buying tickets and flying there and not seeing your favorite team on the main stage.
oh i think its terrible for most na to even consider going, but i'm still surprised they don't locally sell out.
except that... they really dropped the ball this year and dota has been too quiet.
i enjoyed the map stuff for the shen event, but it was handled really weirdly, and the compendium with basically garbage incentive really choked out the audience

At this point the prize pool is so low that I wonder if valve is close to breaking even. 2.5m prize pool would be 7.5m for them right? The tickets, “talent”, other staff, venue etc must total up to close that

Nah. Talent gets like 20k for the show if not less. Talent actually gets squeezed hard with pay because any â– â– â– â– â– â– can do it almost. Bunch of people willing to work for less.

I get why they shouldn’t care and think it’s reasonable. I’m just saying that’s how they’ve typically behaved. Profit motive-oriented. They dropped tf2 the moment it stopped seeming profitable for them and they had gotten what they wanted (a thriving app economy), but not before adding random monetized mvm crap.
CS2 may be free but there’s a clear correlation between market cost of items and the new version. Who benefits from that growth
