I guess it’s not bad if you spent say $600 on your card and mined 300 hours at 2 bucks back but it takes energy on top to do so. So you’re not just mining to cover the card you’re doing it for the card and the energy

if mining generates $2 and it costs you $.50-$1 to do it youre making $1-$1.50 an hour or have to run your shit for like 400 hours to recoup the cost of the GPU. Which doesnt seem great. I feel like you'd have to replace it after that but I'm not sure. I did maybe 150-200 hours for zcash on my old machine (way back) and it didn't affect me but it did feel like a net-zero or negative.
What? No. It's more then that 3080 can make 4ish $ a day. So let's say $3 after power that's $90 a month

My issue with doing anything like that is that every channel you find is incentivized to push solutions that aren’t great to keep the channel going. So they’ll be unrealistic and ultimately do more to convince you than inform you
