When you have paragraph after paragraph listing the crimes of one side but leave the crimes of the other to "they're not great," it aint worth talking about with that person. There's something else going on under the hood that you can't fix here.
Part of me wants to say fuck it this might be an occassion for some good old regime change from the outside, but I don't know how to undo the genocidal education done on both sides.

They're arab people, who moved there 300 years ago when the Ottomans conquered the area and brought people in from all over their Empire to settle the place, as they often did.
They don't have any stronger claim to the land than the Jews, and normal people would have gotten over this decades ago if not for the religious aspect.
