I think these showrunners write a particular brand of miserable non-agentic people who are just not fun for me to watch
Idk what it is because BB had the same feeling but if I look for "miserable non-agentic" examples by other writers (eg A serious man, Inside Llewyn) they are often my faves
I'll prob watch season 1 of this just to see how it goes then skip the inevitable 6 more seasons of going nowhere
