Reality: democrats in office vaguely support pathways to citizenship and legal residence, as well as border security funding. And as president, with almost no pushback from his peers, the Biden administration spent a year reducing the amount of illegal border crossings both diplomatically and through policy. And the timing was indeed intentional, so we can see the results of those actions and use them when campaigning.
