I believe there is an influential sect of the democrat party that is highly progressive and pushes for policies such as de facto open borders which is why the biden administration was so slow to react to the increased amount of illegal aliens until it became such a political problem he was forced to do something. I believe that you, and other liberal types look at high levels of immigration from third world countries as a good thing and that they should be allowed in by the millions and made legal citizens or residents whether they are already here illegally or not. I believe that you, and other progressives, look at a white majority country as a problem that needs to be changed which is why you crack jokes about it and celebrate the decreasing white population.
If the border was ran the way you and other progressives within the dems wanted it to be ran there would essentially be open borders and the only reason there isn't right now is because a majority of the united states does not agree with your position on it and they were forced to backtrack and begin cracking down on the border 3 years into biden's term.
