Software was created because hardware is too inconvenient and slow to change?
It's exposing that I'm racist.
Reading about the history of software to understand Matty's claim.
Is this an alternate history? Seems like most of computing was invented by women (according to this article)
That isn’t news
Early computers had to be physically modified to change their behavior. Everyone knows this.
Are you following? I feel you struggle with concepts sometimes. Like this should just be self-evident. If hardware was as cheap and fast to innovate as software then we'd replace our computers daily.
I don't have a computer science background. Like Thiel says in his Joe Rogan interview - it's a fake science.
I start from AWS concepts and then reason top-down about their implications and origins in the software industry.
Reading this now to understand if you're memeing me
Regardless, you are saying the thing that I am saying but ruder.
In this case we are both actually in agreement against Jones. The reason for our strange conversation is actually your lack of understanding - having not read Zero to One or listened to the 4 hrs of Thiel interviews posted recently in the thread, you're not really able to engage with the Thiel concepts I'm supposedly rebutting.
This guy has lost the plot
I'm not memeing on you. Early computers used specialized hardware that was a pain to modify compared to modern ones that use general purpose hardware and simply let the software decide the specifics. If it wasn't this way then we'd have to wait on new specialized hardware to accomplish new programming tasks. Like a fairly modern example from the 90s was the fixed function pipeline that was in GPUs that was replaced with the GPGPU. And, okay, maybe software has a complex history and it's not as simple as "we knew exactly what the modern paradigm was" when it was first conceived.
I apologize for being rude but I was confused because I don't know what Thiel said and it felt like you were memeing me. I am completely reliant on your explanations to understand his talking points.
OK, I'll explain Thiel's perspectives a little later so that we can agree if I'm successfully rebutting them.
For all offenses against the United States which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in
