Naw I'm a white settler. I grew up around natives (we don't have reserves and actually live with native people) in the north so I'm a real one. White people from Southern Canada are hilarious cuz half of them have never met a native person and do those ridiculous land acknowledgements.
Most progressives in southern Canadian cities (especially in the east) have never met an Indigenous person, which is why they talk about them like they're mythical creatures from a folk lore podcast.
