Yes we need to have "conversation." Only somebody who has never done anything worthwhile in life could have this opinion. Spend 2 days working on a typical software project (or any project really) and tell me what we need is more conversation in order to get things done.

An elderly non-technical PM coworker of mine (read: useless conversation-focused role with no meaningful contribution to the project) who is from Quebec once sat me down and explained that DEI initiatives are unfair because they consider him white whereas in his country he is actually an oppressed minority
He then told me, out loud in an office full of people, to look up and read the book "The White ■■■■■■■ of America." Said the full title twice
I did not make a complaint and get him fired because i agree with him. he should be considered a DEI hire and his contributions to the project make much more sense through the lens presented by "The White ■■■■■■■ of America"

That's what I meant. I was using the word loosely to mean "acting with strong conviction".
I appreciate the point but think it's an important distinction to be opposed to actual violence even in the pursuit of some political higher purpose
