Here's an open question: if it is true what insom says (that it isn't Biden's fault), then whose fault is it? Because the United States has been maneuvered into quite possibly the worst military position of its entire existence.

The US killed the ABM treaty in 2001~ (Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty - Wikipedia) and built out BMD infrastructure over Europe under the guise of "North Korea" and "Iran". Meanwhile you have the aforementioned Romney clip of "Russia is the greatest enemy to the United States".
The Russians then violate (in response) Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty - Wikipedia as they have to technically combat the new BMD.
So now you have these extremely cool missiles that have been developed with sensors that can withstand mach a billion, are capable of significant navigation/maneuvering, have precision enough that conventional warheads can be used. So radar systems have signatures for all these returns, and since these are dual use (they can hold both conventional and nuclear payloads), I presume they get on the phone whenever they're going to fire one and you just cross your fingers that someone is telling the truth.

There are no bad guys. The world outside of your Avengers movies is not divided into "good guys" and "bad guys." Countries are led by rational political actors who are acting in their own interests and the interests of the country and people they represent (in that order).
The error in the way you (and other media-brained individuals) talk about Putin is thinking you're in an Avengers movie. Thinking you've found a Bad Guy. "This guy just randomly invaded Ukraine unprovoked!!"
It's not addressed by using the same Avengers thinking to label the US a bad guy. Watch a movie other than Avengers maybe you'll get it.
