yes? well i dont know about the second for sure. i am optimistic and think it should not be ruled out by metaphysical arguments.

well, i couldnt get him to clarify his ruling it out by metaphysical arguments because he wouldn't make a bet about what we can happen to expect in the real world. so maybe he doesnt actually believe it is impossible on a metaphysical basis.

Just posting some thoughts until ewiz tells me to read a book or calls me a moron.

I attempted to decipher the writings of Wittgenstein at one point -- I spent ~1 hour total. Like my experience with attempting to read Faulkner, I didn't understand a word of it and found it very boring.

What I want to know is why ewiz wouldn't take the bet.
