Wittgenstein's Philosophical Investigations book commentary

You can't substantively make this conclusion off of one conversation between him and ewiz.

Yeah....yes I can

Itā€™s important to distinguish that this ā€œone conversationā€ has spanned many hours and, in fact, many days. I believe Iā€™ve probably read more material on the subjects theyā€™re discussing than hbotz did. I think that says a lot.

Nope you can't

Too late already did and Iā€™m right.

And it doesn't say anything. You're falling into the "read a book" trap.

I made the arguments. I summarized them. I linked citations to short summaries. Hbotz is too lazy to read more than one paragraph. Stop being disingenuous

fuck man why does this have to be 1000 posts

tell me the conclusions about language in this thread so I can judge them and feel important

as usual iaafr hits homeruns about language

holy shit how did this get to hedge funds

Thatā€™s another thread but avoid it at all costs.

You should check it out. It's a quick read and very informative

Formal languages with certain assumptions guarantee mathematical realism, i.e. mathematical objects are real objects in a metaphysical space. They exist independent of us. Since we can discover mathematical objects in this metaphysical space, our consciousness has to have a metaphysical aspect to it, as would all other products of cognition like natural language. So reduction to materialism is not well-founded

That was in a different thread where asoul tried to argue with me to make me look dumb but was proven wrong with source after source while he made shit up

Actually, this is just ridiculous. Reading material on subjects of interest should never be considered ā€œ a trapā€

What do you read all day that somehow has real and correct worth? Because I think everyone is aware that reddit is a shit source. As well as namafia.

This is one version of the events

Not gonna read the last 400 posts cuz Iā€™ve seen the reviews and theyā€™re poor

I am no philosopher, so just to help me understand, what would be the opposite of a "real object in a metaphysical space"? Like a physical thing biologically in the brain?

Reddit is only shit if you use it as your sole source of primary material
