We all have our specialties. Epistemology especially is more of a natural intuition than anything.
Regarding your Alien Bayesianism: Aliens do not have human statistics, therefore our principles and theories do not apply to them.
The chance for intelligent life is certainly not a fallacious deduction though, bayesian or otherwise.
I don't know what "Hard-Steps Model of Advanced Life" we're using here, but it is very true that intelligent Earth life surviving for so long proves it's not that uncommon.
In fact, it seems to be impossible that an intelligent civilization could ever "die" or "destroy itself" - it certainly is impossible in our case, no matter how it looks - humanity WILL survive forever.
