For all we know its just as likely we were created by a god or are in a simulation. It almost seems more likely to me than by random chance
this is assuming god or the simulator (effectively our god or demigod) wouldn't put other life out there

Chance for single cell life forms * chance of multi cell life forms * chance of hospitable long term planet * chance of whatever evolutionary mechanisms causing actual intelligence * the billions of other things that must have gone exactly correctly for us to be here
Assume that the first step is the hardest one. You multiply and add exponents of each and every other chance. Remarkably low probability. You really have to understand low. Like reciprocate that number and its probably larger than the number of atoms in the universe

In any case aliens would have to be capable of time travel to even know we exist or reach us so there is genuinely no reason to ever believe a single thing that says theyre on earth
ftl travel, mass effect fields, wormhole time dilation. all theoretical but saying time travel is simplifying it to a seemingly impossible task
