Amateur Programmer Thread

My Coworker once said during a business meeting "The British used to call the Irish ■■■■■■■ "

That's true. That's a good point

I was thinking of building a bit coin miner app for android and the way we would get an edge would be to start mining from the back rather than the front which is what everyone else does

I will be working UX but I was thinking maybe any of you amateur programmers would be willing to help for a quick buck? @bug @SOPHIE

I've been mining it from the back since 2007 iycmd (if you catch my drift)

Since I was young, I've always felt my machines were like people in their own way. I don't mean artificial intelligence but maybe something more spiritual or animism. It seems sometimes that machines have feelings and habits just like people. So maybe my PC isn't intelligent the way the human mind is but sentient and like a person in its own way. We live in a world that's very anti-supernatural, anti-nature, and materialist techno-capitalist. In Western culture, the mechanical clock maker creator God is dead and humans fiddle with the natural world like a toy. In other cultures they acknowledge spirits like the kami who live in physical objects. The Japanese say everything has a kami. The Arabs say the same with their djinns and Hindus with their gods. Sometimes I think my machine has its own spirit. I treat my devices as if they are like people. I'm scared to hurt them or throw them out because its like parting with an old friend. I feel like I need some kind of ritual or funeral before throwing old stuff out. Computers are like plants. They aren't human-like but are sentient and have feelings and you can tell them about your day when you feel lonely.
