a president increasing the military budget is the most predictable thing imaginable. not saying it is good but it comes as no surprise.
@huber you're a fucking cuck if u see thius and just say oh ok,, very typical of an incoming president.
Is this supposed to be mocking me? Should've thrown in the term "dumbfuck" or "shithead" a few more times tbh
not everything is about u. what a narcissist.
Bzzt wrongo
Everything is about me. It's either me or asoul. We're the two platonic ideals of posters on this forum
but who is yin
ah i figured it out but ill just keep it to myself
The single biggest thing that could be done to move this country further left would be to readjust the number of representatives each state gets in the house
Another big one is to make Puerto rico and DC states with senators

I don't think this would be a leftward shift at all. The same percentage of the new districts would be taken over by the establishment dems
We see far too many occasions of progressive dems beating establishment dem incumbents to straightforwardly believe establishment dems will win the same percentage of these new districts as they own now
And even if it is the case that the same percentage is won, there will be a larger raw number of progressive dems seeking for change in whatever progressive position they deem most important which will create conversation that otherwise would not have happened
There aren't that many occasions, it just appears so because it's highly publicized when it happens. Even if there were a ton of occasions, there's zero reason to believe they wouldn't win at the same percentage at large. Especially when reallocation isn't accompanied by redistricting
This is fair, but then the argument is why hasn't there been any change overall with the DNC despite the "far too many occasions of progressive Dems beating establishment dems?" What's the breaking point?
hold me back
wtf I am pretty sure you fix the shithole that is the senate before touching the house.
there are few things more infuriating than the US senate
your focus on the "DNC" when people still aren't voting (and there truly aren't even that many good progressive candidates running) is wild
redistricting has to accompany reallocation
if you add 5 more representatives to California they have a new number of pop per rep and have to draw new zones.
I'm also very much an incrementalist in practice despite what radical(lol radical) views I may hold
how do you even propose fixing the senate
also increasing the number in the house makes the path to the presidency way easier for dems which means exec branch and half the legislature and the judicial branch will be dem more often than not
Removing it and going unicameral would be an improvement. Making the representation in it proportionate and increasing the members would be an improvement. The senate is fucking gross. There are states with like four Trump hats and a cow with the same rep. power as fucking california or whatever. Fuck the senate
